For a proper sit-down Indian dinner near Queenstown, Mantra in Arrowtown is the pick — it is the most consistently well-regarded Indian kitchen in the district, and worth the 20-minute drive. If you want to stay closer, Bombay Palace on Frankton Road is the reliable local, and The Taj on Beach Street is the one with the lake view.
Queenstown's Indian scene is small but genuinely good, and it is spread out — the standout sit-down room is in Arrowtown, the workhorse local is on Frankton Road, and the lake-view option is on Beach Street. This list is deliberately short: in our August 2026 audit we removed every venue we could not independently confirm was still trading, rather than pad it out to ten.
